> The larger shopping mall centers - Fashion Square Mall, Chandler Fashion Square, Paradise Valley Mall - have a visitor concierge center and offer coupon books or discount cards. > The fountain in Fountain Hills operates at 10 minute intervals from 10 am - 9 pm. At night the fountain is lit in gold and white. > Arizona does not participate in Daylight Savings time. > Arizona is a smoke-free state. No indoor smoking in public places. > The City of Scottsdale has a FREE trolley that goes around Old Town Scottsdale. It runs every 10 minutes from 11 am - 9 pm. > If you are going to go mountain hiking, try and start early in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day. Also bring at least 2 bottles of water. > Morning traffic begins at about 6:30 am until about 9 am. Evening traffic begins at 3 pm and lasts until about 6:30 pm Monday - Friday. > Temperatures average 70 degrees in the winter months and into the 100 degrees during the summer. > If you can take the heat, summer is the less expensive season in the Phoenix & Scottsdale areas. > Spring Training Baseball Games are held in the afternoons and are not as expensive as season games.
